============================================ ::Would You Jump In?:: Imagine riding calmly down a river of clear blue water. The moon casts a flickering light on its surface as the gentle waves brush against the side of your small vessel. In the distance you can make out the faint sounds of insects along the wooded shore, and branches rustling in the wind. The night sky stretches for an eternity above and all around you. You are moving along the river, constantly progressing down towards the unknown. Where the river leads to, or when it comes to an end, you do not know. All you know for certain is that every second brings you closer to the end. You never stop moving forward. Suddenly, you hear laughter coming from the water. It sounds as if hundreds of people are playing, swimming, and enjoying life all around you. And then, when the moon's glowing light shines brightly on the river around you, you finally see quite an amazing sight. Surrounding your small boat, along the entire stretch of the river, are children and adults of all ages having the time of their lives. You have never seen smiles that look so sincere and fulfilled. You want to feel that joy and happiness. You get the urge to jump in and join them, but you hesitate. You're afraid. As you sit in your boat, safe from the unknowns of the water, you continue to travel farther and faster down the river. Just when you get up the courage to jump in and enjoy the water you learn what lies at the end. Too late to change course and too late to go back and experience the joys of the water you meet with... A waterfall. This is life. The water represents every goal and dream you have, and the rushing water is time. Sitting in the boat, afraid to jump in, symbolizes your hesitation to take action towards the things you want in life. It doesn't matter if you sit safely on board or jump in and enjoy your life, time will never stop rushing by. -- When Will You Begin? -- The question is, when are you going to jump in? You could wait to take action towards your desires until it is too late to really enjoy them. If you jump in now, you will have the rest of your life to experience the success and happiness your desires and dreams will bring. If you wait any longer, you are wasting valuable time that you can never get back. The reality of life is that most people never jump in the water. They dream and wish for a better and brighter life, but they never do anything about it. Walking down the street you will see many people living in this way. A smaller percentage wait until a later time to start doing the things they have always wanted to do. Retirement is a perfect example. Do you know anyone who is using retirement as their time to begin living the good life? By no means is life over at retirement, but why wait until old age to live life on your terms? The sooner you take action and reach your goals, the longer you have to enjoy them. Every day that passes without action is one less day you could be living with more joy, less pain, and true happiness. -- A Lesson Worth Learning -- The last group of people dive in from the start. Every second that passes them by is spent in the water, not only dreaming the dreams but bringing them to life. These three groups, the wishers, do-laters, and the doers, can teach us an exciting lesson that can change your life forever. What is it? Choice. No one said you had to stay in your boat until you meet with the water's edge. It's your choice. You can jump in right now and take the first steps toward getting what you want, doing what you want to do, and being the person you have always wanted to be. Or you can put it off. Again. I can't tell you what will happen when you decide to go for it, but I can tell you one thing with absolute certainty. If you do nothing, if you hesitate for the rest of your life, you will never achieve your goals and dreams. And you know it. -- The Next Step -- I'll make it easy for you. You have a choice to begin today, beginning tomorrow, or never beginning at all. I advise the first option.
