You Control Your Happiness
'To different minds, the same world is a hell, a heaven.'
     R.W. Emerson
We may not be able to control what people say to us.
We also cannot control what other people do to us.
But what we can control is more powerful
than both of these forces combined. Our attitude.
TAKING CONTROL
Our attitude is extremely powerful, and is also extremely controllable.
By letting others control our attitude, our happiness will always, always
depend on what other people think, say, and do. So if you want to be happy,
you must rely on everyone else to make it so.
The world is not perfect, and relying on others for our happiness
will most likely lead to frustration. We must take control of
our attitude if we are to be truly happy. Obstacles may arise,
but it is our attitude that can overcome every obstacle,
and turn it into an opportunity.
YOU DECIDE
You must decide your mood, regardless of what happens to you. If you do
this, you gain control, and rely only on yourself for happiness. You
decide, not others, how your day will go. If you meet negativity, respond
positively.
You can decide to be happy, or you can hope that others will bring it to you.
Only the former can give you a guarantee.
