Stressed Out? Remember This!

Stress can make its way into your life in many different forms. Arguments you had with your wife or husband. An impossible deadline to meet at work. Or a mess that never seems to be taken care of in the house. For these seemingly stressful situations and more, you have a secret weapon.

Take a break.

Sure, it sounds simple, and it is. Many times the simplest solutions work the best because they are quick and easy to implement. When you find yourself in a stressful or tense situation, taking a quick break, for five to fifteen minutes, can alleviate the pressure and help you make the best of the rest of your day.

If you have to put yourself in the way of stress, use the following tips to help you make the best of a quick break.

DEEP BREATHING
Once you have removed yourself from the immediate situation, breath deeply to relax. Getting fresh air into your lungs will help to soothe your nerves. In through the nose and out through the mouth is a good technique, but you can use any way you choose.

SIT OR LIE DOWN
If possible, find a comfortable place to sit or lie down. Not only will this give your mind some time off, but your body will get a rest as well. Try to find a quiet place where excessive noise or disruption won't add to your stress.

COUNT TO TEN
How many times have you heard this one? Probably a lot, and that's because it works. Counting to ten in a tense situation helps to refocus your thoughts and give your mind relief from the current circumstances.

When it comes to a stressful situation, you now have a tool to help you get over it and on with your day in only five to fifteen minutes.
